How Did We Get Our Start? Back in the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. His hands would often split and crack in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. It helped his hands so much, he decided to share it with everyone he knew - and the rest, as they say, is Badger history.

How to Apply Badger Bug Repellent Stick: 1. Peel label along dotted line, remove cap, and twist the bottom until the product rises. 2. Rub stick directly on entire area of skin to be protected. No mess! 3. Reapply as needed.

Does this work for gnats, ticks, fleas, and no see ums? This product is formulated to be generally repellent to a wide variety of biting insects, but is only tested on mosquitoes and stable flies, so our efficacy claims are limited to those.

Does it contain DEET or any other chemical insect repellants? No. Badger Bug repellents do not contain: DEET, boric acid, skin so soft, permethrin, wondercide, neem, or picaridin. They repel bugs with organic essentials oils, nature's original bug repellents.

What does it smell and feel like? It smells like citronella, lemongrass, geranium and other essential oils. It feels like an intensive moisturizing balm (the inactive ingredients are organic extra virgin olive oil and beeswax).
